10 day bass fishing outlook for this week
New Moon is this Saturday 12/1/24, which is why you will see a spike in the BFR that day across most of the nation.
It has been unseasonably warm for most of the nation these past few days. But that is going to change on Thanksgiving Day. The good news is that since water is an insulator and takes a while to adjust to air temps, if you want to get away from the Black Friday crowds into the great outdoors, the bass will still be active and willing to gobble…as long as you fish in the right place with right bait and the right presentation.
In the southern reaches of the nation, higher than normal bass activity for this time of year can be found through the entire Thanksgiving weekend.
BassForecast Rating (BFR):
Top 5 Baits to have on hand for: 11/28/2024 - 12/08/2024
Based on the BassForecast AI - Weather forecast and seasonal bass pattern intel.
Buzzbait – Run across shallow water near vegetation or structure during mornings or evenings when water temps exceed 50°F.
Jig – Bounce or drag jigs slowly around cover such as timber or rocks, letting them fall to trigger reaction strikes.
Lipless Crankbait – Use over flats or near weed lines with varied retrieve speeds, pausing occasionally to provoke aggressive bites.
Spinnerbait – Ideal for mimicking bait fish, retrieve steadily and add pauses near structure like rocks or weed edges to entice strikes.
Suspending Jerkbait - Twitch and pause along steep banks or creek channels, keeping it still during pauses to tempt lethargic bass.
