Customer Catch Story: James Mayabb

“The 4:38 Surprise—BassForecast Called It If you’d told me I’d catch my personal best from the bank on a warm April afternoon, I’d have said you were crazy. But on April 9th, BassForecast gave me a reason to believe otherwise. I checked the app earlier that day, just killing time and debating if it was even worth going out. It showed a Peak Activity window from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, with a 5.6 rating. Not off the charts, but enough to catch my eye. What really stood out was the recommendation to fish near hard structure—rocks, in particular—with reaction baits. So I rigged up a white spinnerbait, hit a rocky stretch of shoreline I’d usually overlook, and started casting from the bank. For a while, it was quiet. Then, at exactly 4:38 PM, it happened. I felt that heavy thump, set the hook, and immediately knew this was no average catch. The fight was solid—this fish had some weight to it. When I finally landed her, I was staring down at a 6-pound, 1-ounce tank. Not only was it the biggest bass I’ve ever caught, but I did it right where I least expected—on foot, in the middle of the day. Without BassForecast pointing me to the right time, place, and pattern, I wouldn’t have even been there. It may not have been a perfect rating, but it was the perfect window. At 4:38 PM, everything came together—and BassForecast made it happen.”
