Cooper Pilcher Story Catch

“It was literally the last cast my dad was already walking to the truck. I casted the drop shot across the weed line (it’s a quarry so it has a weed line into a big drop off) I let it fall to the bottom and gave one small twitch and let it sit and then next twitch I felt something, I thought it was a rock because it’s a rock quarry and a bunch of big rocks and concrete are everywhere and I lose a lot of lures in those rocks. I decided to fake that this “snag” was a fish so we could stay longer I set the hook and the I felt head shakes so I knew it was a fish and big. I called to my dad he came to the hill expecting it to be a small bass but I convinced him to walk down and that’s when it jumped. The fight lasted maybe three minutes or so. I waded in to lip it and brought it ashore. I looked at the line to find it torn from it wrapping me around the dock and my light wire hooked bent to an unusable condition. We measured it at 22.2in and 6.6lb overall memorable catch and great last catch and the biggest bass by far I’ve seen caught out of that lake.”
