What Is the Bass Forecast Lunker Club?

The Bass Forecast Lunker Club is a community of verified big bass catches submitted by Bass Forecast app users. The club recognizes anglers who catch qualifying lunker bass and features their photos, stories, and tackle details in a searchable gallery organized by state and species.

What qualifies as a lunker:

  • Southern states: 8 pounds or more

  • Northern states: 6 pounds or more

  • Anglers 13 and under: 5 pounds or more

The regional qualification system reflects the biological reality that bass grow larger in southern waters than in northern waters. A 6-pound bass in Minnesota represents the same trophy achievement as an 8-pound bass in Alabama.

Why submit your catch:

Verified submissions earn 35 percent off any Lew's or Strike King product. One winner each month receives a Lew's Accel RX baitcast rod and reel combo. All verified submissions become part of a permanent public gallery that other anglers can browse for insight into what is producing big bass across the country.

Frequently Asked Questions

About the Bass Forecast Lunker Club (FAQ's)

What is the Bass Forecast Lunker Club?

The Bass Forecast Lunker Club is a community of verified big bass catches submitted by Bass Forecast app users. Over 1,200 anglers have submitted qualifying lunker bass with full story, photos, and tackle details. Every submission is moderator-verified before it appears on the public wall.

What qualifies as a lunker bass?

Weight requirements vary by region. Southern states require 8 pounds minimum. Northern states require 6 pounds minimum. Anglers age 13 and under qualify with 5 pounds minimum. The regional system reflects the biological reality that bass grow larger in warmer southern waters.

How do I submit my big bass catch?

Submit through the Bass Forecast app or the Lunker Club submission page on bassforecast.com. You need a clear photo of the fish on a scale, documentation of the bait and tackle used, and the date and location. Moderators verify each submission within 48 hours.

What do I win if my lunker is accepted?

Every verified submission earns a 35 percent off code for any Lew's or Strike King product. One winner is randomly selected each month from the pool of verified submissions to receive a Lew's Accel RX baitcast rod and reel combo.

Is there a cost to join the Lunker Club?

No. Submission is free for all Bass Forecast users. You do need the Bass Forecast app to submit, which is available free on iOS, Android, and web.

Can I submit multiple catches?

Yes. You can submit as many qualifying catches as you have. Each verified submission counts as a separate entry for the monthly Lew's Accel RX combo drawing and earns you a 35 percent off code.

How does the verification process work?

Our moderators review each submission for proof of weight (clear photo on scale), fish species identification, and accurate tackle and condition details. Verification typically takes 24 to 48 hours. We may contact submitters for additional information if the submission is incomplete.

What states are represented in the Lunker Club?

The Bass Forecast Lunker Club has verified catches from 46 states, including every state where bass fishing is a significant recreational activity. Browse by state using the navigation to see every verified lunker from your region.

Why are the weight requirements different for northern and southern states?

Water temperature affects how large bass can grow. Warmer southern waters produce faster growth rates and larger maximum sizes. Cooler northern waters produce slower growth and generally smaller trophy fish. A 6-pound bass in Minnesota represents the same angling achievement as an 8-pound bass in Alabama because of these biological differences.

Can I filter catches by species?

Yes. The Lunker Club includes both largemouth and smallmouth bass submissions. Use the species filter to see only largemouth or smallmouth lunkers.

What tackle do most Lunker Club winners use?

Browse the catches to see specific tackle for each submission. The verified catches include the exact bait, rod, reel, and line used by each angler, which gives you real-world data on what produces trophy bass across different waters and conditions.

How often does the Lunker Club wall update?

New verified submissions appear on the wall as they are approved by moderators, typically within 48 hours of submission. The monthly Lew's Accel RX winner is announced on the first day of each month.
