Bass fishing report for this week:

“Full Moon = Full Beds… or Full Bellies.”
This time of year, the full moon can trigger big bass to move shallow—if your lake is still in the pre-spawn to spawn bass season. But in post-spawn & summer zones, it might mean they’ve fed all night and are in rest mode by sunrise.

🎣 Don’t just chase the moon. Weather conditions—like fronts, wind, cloud cover, and water clarity—can trump moon phase when it comes to actual bass activity. That’s why smart anglers use Bass Forecast to adapt in real-time.

🔍 Bass Forecast’s Adapted Pattern® tool combines moon phase with local weather data to pinpoint:

  • Where the bite is still on (look for deeper, cooler arms with late spawners)

  • When they’re most active

  • What baits are likely to work based on the current conditions

👉 Best move this weekend:

  • Skip burned-out shallow flats

  • Focus on deeper zones (6–10 ft) where big females may just now be staging or bedding

  • Check your local forecast in Bass Forecast before you launch—it’ll tell you where to start, what to throw, and when to expect the bite

It’s the smartest way to dial it in, crack the code, and be the hero of the day—maybe even for your whole crew.

Stop guessing and fish smarter—With Bass Forecast Pro you can see 10 days ahead and always be ready for the best bite!

The Upcoming 5 days - Nationwide Regional Breakdown

Northwest

Unseasonably warm temperatures are accelerating the bass spawn across much of the region. Target shallow flats and protected coves. Topwater lures and soft plastics can be particularly effective.  Use the seasonal toggle in your BassForecast mobile app to view both Spawn and Post Spawn Bass Season Adapted Patterns® as baits, locations and presentations can change from day to day this time of year. When you can, look 5 to 10 days out to give yourself time to buy the baits you may need but don’t have.

Southwest

Continued warmth is solidifying post-spawn patterns and early summer patterns in most lakes. Bass are transitioning and may be feeding aggressively to recover energy. Be prepared for sudden weather changes, including potential thunderstorms, especially in eastern areas.  A wide variety of baits, locations and presentations may be in play depending on the weather. To stay in tune with what mother nature offers you, use your Bass Forecast mobile app to view all Bass Season Adapted Patterns® in play. When you can, look 5 to 10 days out to give yourself time to buy the baits you may need but don’t have.

Midwest

Recent heavy rains have led to elevated water levels and potential flooding in some areas. Bass are in various stages of spawn, from Pre-Spawn to Spawn to Post Spawn depending on local conditions. Use your Bass Forecast mobile app to view all 3 Bass Season Adapted Patterns® in play. Target clearer waters and use brightly colored lures to improve visibility. PRO TIP: Use the weather graph in your Bass Forecast PRO app to review rainfall totals for the past 10 days by location. This helps you avoid lakes likely to be blown out by muddy inflows.

Southeast

A slow-moving upper-level low brings increased chances of rain and thunderstorms throughout the weekend. Bass are actively feeding in post-spawn and summer patterns. Focus on submerged vegetation and use soft plastics or spinnerbaits. Be cautious of rapidly changing weather conditions. Track the bass seasons that may be in play closely and 3 to 10 days before you go in your Bass Forecast mobile app to stay on top of rapidly changing conditions which will affect bass feeding activity and locations to target.

Northeast

Warmer-than-average temperatures have accelerated the transition into spawn and post-spawn patterns. Bass feeding will vary widely from passive to aggressive depending on the day.  Don’t rely on yesterday’s news this time of year. Stay ahead of the game with your Bass Forecast mobile app. Bass Season Adapted Patterns® reveal what’s in play 5 to 10 days in advance, giving you time to prepare and pack the baits you’ll need but might be missing.

Bass Forecast Tip:

Over 1.5 million+ Bass Forecast anglers have used these tips to boost catch rates during the cooler season.

1. DO NOT rely on “what worked yesterday”. It's not a solid strategy. The trickiest part of figuring out the bite in bass fishing is that patterns can change daily based on the weather, thus changing the feeding behavior of bass. Use the Bass Forecast app feature Adapted Patterns® to help adapt your strategy in real time. Bass Forecast Adapted Patterns® has predicted the winning pattern in 86% of top flight bass fishing tournaments 7 to 10 days before the tournament began.

2. Select best odds days up to 10 days in advance by getting Bass Forecast PRO inside the app. While there's no ‘guarantee’ of success on any single outing, double blind research has shown that season long average catch rates during GOOD/EPIC rated days are 68% to 305% higher than the average. Fisheries biologist research has also proven that bigger bass are caught during GOOD/EPIC days due to proactive vs reactive feeding behavior.

3. NO MATTER WHEN YOU GO, the BFR combined with the Seasonal Pattern (see map below) guides the 3 key elements of a successful bass catching pattern: 1. Baits to use. 2. Best bet fish feeding locations. 3. Best bet presentation speed.

Tight lines and happy fishing!

Stay ahead of the seasonal shifts, and make the most of these prime bass fishing days. Don't forget to check the Bass Forecast app for all the latest insights to keep your trips productive.
