🎣 U.S. Bass Trend Overview: June 5th – June 9th, 2025
The Bass Forecast across the U.S. varies by region, with the Northwest promising good to epic conditions later in the week as bass transition from spawn to post-spawn, while the Southwest maintains steady summer patterns with prime fishing over the next five days. The Midwest holds steady with an epic bite expected next week, driven by mixed spawn stages, and the Northeast peaks with great to epic fishing this week before a post-spawn decline. The Southeast, already in a solid summer pattern, will see epic ratings late weekend into next week.

Regional Bass Fishing Forecast Breakdown: June 5th – June 9th, 2025
Below is a brief summary by region. Because the weather and water conditions are rapidly changing this time of year, be sure to check your local bass fishing top 5 baits and lake location recommendations using your Bass Forecast mobile app Adapted Patterns® feature.
Northwest:
The weekend starts with above-average warmth, with highs in the mid-70s to low 80s, particularly in the interior Northwest, accompanied by mostly sunny skies. This warming trend aligns perfectly with the good-to-epic bass forecast later in the weekend. Bass are in steady spawn and post-spawn patterns. Males are guarding beds in shallows, while females are staging nearby. Target spawning flats and coves with soft plastics like tubes, craws, or wacky-rigged worms. As water temps rise into the low to mid-60s, expect increased feeding activity, especially Sunday into Monday.
Southwest:
Hot and dry conditions persist, with highs in the 90s to low 100s across desert regions, and minimal precipitation expected through early next week. Scattered thunderstorms may develop in the southern Rockies and east-central New Mexico by Sunday evening. The steady summer bass season continues, with dog days approaching in southern areas. Bass are in early summer patterns, holding on deeper structures, points, and drop-offs after post-spawn. Early mornings and late evenings are ideal for topwater lures near shad or bluegill spawns. During peak heat, fish slow with deep-diving crankbaits or jigs around submerged cover.
Midwest:
Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms through the weekend, particularly from the southern High Plains to the Tennessee and Ohio Valleys, with highs in the 60s to low 70s. Early next week, a dynamic trough brings heavier rain potential across the Mid-South, with possible severe storms and highs cooling slightly. Bass in northern regions are in spawn, while southern areas are post-spawn. Focus on protected coves and warming backwaters where bass are bedding or cruising. Murky water from rain may require brighter lures or vibration baits like chatterbaits to trigger strikes.
Southeast:
Scattered thunderstorms are possible through the weekend, with highs in the 80s. The good bass fishing transitions to epic late weekend into next week. A solid summer pattern is in place. Bass may be feeding aggressively on shad and bluegill around points, humps, docks, and brush piles. Topwater lures at dawn and dusk can yield explosive strikes, while mid-day fishing calls for deeper presentations like Carolina rigs or crankbaits.
Northeast:
Rain and possible thunderstorms are likely Friday into Saturday along the I-95 corridor, with highs in the 60s to low 70s. Conditions improve by Sunday with partly sunny skies and highs climbing to the mid-70s, though early next week may see renewed showers. The great-to-epic bass fishing this weekend aligns with bass transitioning from spawn to post-spawn. As water temps reach the low 60s, fish move into shallows. Use finesse baits like ned rigs or jerkbaits for cruising fish, and sight-fish in clearer waters when possible. Post-weekend, BFR ratings dip as fish settle into post-spawn patterns.

Bass Forecast Tip:
Over 1.5 million+ Bass Forecast anglers have used these tips to boost catch rates during the cooler season.
1. DO NOT rely on “what worked yesterday”. It's not a solid strategy. The trickiest part of figuring out the bite in bass fishing is that patterns can change daily based on the weather, thus changing the feeding behavior of bass. Use the Bass Forecast app feature Adapted Patterns® to help adapt your strategy in real time. Bass Forecast Adapted Patterns® has predicted the winning pattern in 86% of top flight bass fishing tournaments 7 to 10 days before the tournament began.
2. Select best odds days up to 10 days in advance by getting Bass Forecast PRO inside the app. While there's no ‘guarantee’ of success on any single outing, double blind research has shown that season long average catch rates during GOOD/EPIC rated days are 68% to 305% higher than the average. Fisheries biologist research has also proven that bigger bass are caught during GOOD/EPIC days due to proactive vs reactive feeding behavior.
3. NO MATTER WHEN YOU GO, the BFR combined with the Seasonal Pattern (see map below) guides the 3 key elements of a successful bass catching pattern: 1. Baits to use. 2. Best bet fish feeding locations. 3. Best bet presentation speed.
Tight lines and happy fishing!
