Northwest:
Unseasonably warm and stable weather continues, with highs in the low 80s and afternoon pop-up storms possible in the northern Rockies. Most bass are locked into post-spawn or summer patterns. Focus on early morning topwater action, then switch to deep-water structure with drop-shot rigs, crankbaits, or jigs as the sun rises. Look for shade lines and submerged cover by mid-day.

Southwest:
Dog Days conditions are settling in across much of the region, with highs pushing the low 100s and water temps climbing well above 80°F. Bass are holding deep, hugging points, humps, and thermoclines. Use Carolina rigs, deep crankbaits, and slow-rolled swimbaits. Early mornings still offer good topwater action near shad and bluegill beds. High-elevation lakes may still have lingering post-spawn fish along shorelines.

Midwest:
The heat dome over the region is expanding, with heat indices in the mid-90s to low 100s in some areas. Bass are in solid summer patterns. Expect brief feeding windows at dawn and dusk, especially near current or structure. During high sun, focus on deeper brush piles, ledges, and thermoclines using worms, creature baits, or heavy jigs. Mid-day thunderstorms remain a wildcard in some zones—check local radars.

Southeast:
High heat and humidity continue across most of the region with daily thunderstorm chances. Bass remain in summer patterns, and their feeding windows are tightening. Key targets: vegetation edges, dock pilings, and submerged brush. Early topwater bites can be productive with frogs and poppers. As the sun rises, switch to Texas rigs or deep-diving crankbaits to reach cooler water.

Northeast:
After a hot and stormy stretch, more stable conditions return—though humid air and afternoon thunderstorms remain possible. Bass are transitioning fully into summer holding patterns, with activity shifting deeper. Focus on main-lake points, offshore humps, and deeper grass lines. Best bet: Topwater in the morning, then work crankbaits and drop-shot rigs around structure in 12–20 feet of water. Be ready to adjust with barometric swings.

Bass Forecast Tip:
Over 1.5 million+ Bass Forecast anglers have used these tips to boost catch rates during the cooler season.
1. DO NOT rely on “what worked yesterday”. It's not a solid strategy. The trickiest part of figuring out the bite in bass fishing is that patterns can change daily based on the weather, thus changing the feeding behavior of bass. Use the Bass Forecast app feature Adapted Patterns® to help adapt your strategy in real time. Bass Forecast Adapted Patterns® has predicted the winning pattern in 86% of top flight bass fishing tournaments 7 to 10 days before the tournament began.
2. Select best odds days up to 10 days in advance by getting Bass Forecast PRO inside the app. While there's no ‘guarantee’ of success on any single outing, double blind research has shown that season long average catch rates during GOOD/EPIC rated days are 68% to 305% higher than the average. Fisheries biologist research has also proven that bigger bass are caught during GOOD/EPIC days due to proactive vs reactive feeding behavior.
3. NO MATTER WHEN YOU GO, the BFR combined with the Seasonal Pattern (see map below) guides the 3 key elements of a successful bass catching pattern: 1. Baits to use. 2. Best bet fish feeding locations. 3. Best bet presentation speed.
Tight lines and happy fishing!
